Rising to the Knowledge Era
MDIS initiated several mass communications programmes with the Oklahoma City University, including the Masters of Arts in Mass Communications, the first of its kind in Singapore in 1992.
The MDIS Education Trust Fund was initiated in 1996 and MDIS scholarships and bursaries were awarded from the Trust Fund. The scholarships were awarded to members of the four self-help groups and the HomeTeamNS to pursue pre-degree programmes whilst bursaries were offered to students from Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, Institutes of Technical Education and Polytechnics.
MDIS also launched the several business management programmes with the University of Bradford, UK.
