Stay-Home Notice for Protection Against CoronavirusLatest News
18 February 2020
Dear Students,
We would like to bring your attention to the latest announcement by the government on Singapore’s new Stay- Home Notice for all returning from China.
The new scheme will take effect from 18 Feb at 11.59pm, and apply to all returnees with recent travel history to China, outside of Hubei province, within the last 14 days.
This will be stricter than the current leave of absence (LOA), which has allowed those returning to leave their homes briefly for meals or to buy household supplies. But under the stay-home notice, people cannot leave their homes.
Those on the stay-home notice will be free to decide what they want to do at home, but they are discouraged from having visitors. Their family members/ landlord are urged to take precautionary measures, such as practicing good hygiene practices and social distancing.
There will be penalties for those who flout the Stay-Home Notice and the Government will ensure strict compliance. Student pass holders may get their passes revoked.
We trust all students are responsible to ensure strict compliance should you have recent travel history to China. Disciplinary action shall be taken should any student be caught without declaring their travel.
Please monitor your health closely and seek medical attention promptly if you feel unwell especially if you have fever and acute respiratory illness or pneumonia.
Students are reminded to care for their heath and we seek your cooperation on the above matter.
Thank you.
