The MDIS - University of Bradford (UOB) Graduation Ceremony, held on 18 November at MDIS SAMTAS Hall, MDIS Campus marked a significant accomplishment for the 207 graduands, of which 31 graduated with First Class Honours from Life Sciences, Engineering and Business disciplines.
The ceremony was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Kah Hoe, Trustee and Secretary of MDIS Senate. Also present at the ceremony were UOB faculty members, Professor Martin Priest, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics; Dr Julie Thornton, Senior Lecturer, Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences; Ms Georgina Schofield, Events and Partnership Manager; MDIS Council Members; and MDIS lecturers and guests.
In congratulating the graduands on their achievements, MDIS Secretary-General, Dr R. Theyvendran cited that in life, the road to success is never easy. He shared an inspiring quote from Sir Winston Churchill, who had once said,“Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”
Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Kah Hoe congratulated graduands on their achievements and urged them to bring fresh insights and creativity that would be valued by society and the economy. Mr Tan also presented the Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards to nine graduands, which was then followed by a speech from MBA top student, Mr Radhakrishnan Nakiran.
The graduation was a milestone occasion for all graduates, marking a significant achievement in their pursuit of knowledge; a turning point to a glorious future.
