More than 250 graduands and guests gathered to celebrate on 13 October.
The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Kah Hoe, MDIS Trustee and Secretary, MDIS Senate, and Universty representatives, Dr Dennis Jowasis, Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Professor Karlie Harmon, Director of International Mass Communications Programs.
Mr Tan congratulated the graduands and reminded them that they need to keep upgrading themselves to remain relevant: “Your journey never truly ends. Be flexible and adaptable to the changes around you and continue to grow professionally and personally."
The Gold award for Outstanding Academic Achievement was presented to Vanessa Toh, a Bachelor of Science (in Behavioural Studies with concentration in Psychology) graduate. Silver and bronze awards went to Steffy Ongky Wijaya and Made Anthony Iswara, Bachelor of Arts (in Liberal Studies with concentration in Mass Communications) graduates, respectively.
In her graduation speech, Vanessa shared the importance of education in breaking poverty cycles, boosting social and economic development, improving health and creating a better world for all.
