Nurturing Winners and Championship SpiritLatest News

The MDIS Football Club fielded a team of seven for the Street Soccer tournament while the MDIS Badminton Club sent in a team of five for the Badminton tournament in this year’s PSB Annual Inter-Tertiary School Sports Competition. The competition was held on 10 March at PSB’s Delta Campus.

Under the expert tutelage of MDIS football coach, Mr Richard Chew, the 7-man strong team began the tournament in style with a 10-1 win over ERC Institute. Buoyed with confidence, the team continued in fine form to win a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Kaplan FC.

A heavy downpour brought a temporary halt to the tournament but this did not dampen the team’s spirit nor their winning momentum. They continued their winning streak with another 2 wins en route to the finals, where they faced the host team, PSB Academy. In an intense battle which saw both teams giving their all, the MDIS team emerged champions, doing us proud with a landslide 8-1 win over PSB Academy.

The MDIS Badminton team also did us proud, coming in as runners-up in the mixed-double Badminton tournament. Their regular weekly training and effort put into perfecting their sport has paid off.

As the teams congratulated each other, what really stood out was the exceptional level of camaraderie, teamwork and leadership abilities exhibited by both clubs’ members in the competition. Their achievements were certainly well-deserved.
