MDIS Open House 2018Latest News

Over 700 visitors thronged the campus, eager to find out all that MDIS has to offer. Numerous prospective students and parents headed to SAMTAS Hall to consult with the Head of Schools and programme consultants on a suitable course to take up.

The MDIS Business School, School of Health Life Sciences and MDIS College’s ‘A’ and ‘O’ levels preparatory programmes were some of the most popular courses, receiving many applications that day. International students on the other hand enrolled in the English for International Student (EIS) course; to prepare themselves for diploma programmes with MDIS.

For other visitors, it was a chance to familiarise themselves with the MDIS Campus and consider short courses and workshops that the Institute offers, such as baking and cooking workshops and short technical courses in fashion and design. Other activities for visitors included an Augmented Reality game which was specially set up for the Open House, insightful talks by industry speakers on a variety of topics, and a comprehensive tour of the MDIS Campus, where they were shown our extensive facilities.

Free ice cream, popcorn and candy floss were given out and there was even a photo booth for visitors to take fun and memorable pictures. MediaCorp 987FM radio personalities Sonia Chew and Natasha Faisal added to the fanfare with their wit and humour, rallying the crowds to take part in the fun and educational activities around campus. Visitors also had the opportunity to try out activities put together by the nine academic schools as well as some of the facilities at the various laboratories, studios and classrooms.
