Programme Aims & Objectives

The programme aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • to enable candidates to acquire sufficient breadth of knowledge, deeper insights and a greater understanding of the interdisciplinary area in business and finance.
  • to provide candidates with a structured training for personal and career development and job knowledge.

It is an endorsement of their competence in attaining both academic and practical understanding of the subject matters.


Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the MDIS Graduate Diploma in Business & Finance.

In addition, graduates from the programme are entitled to use the title, GDip. BF, after their names.


The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), founded in 1956, is Singapore's oldest not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning. MDIS has two subsidiaries: Management Development Institute of Singapore Pte Ltd (MDIS Pte Ltd) to oversee its Singapore academic operations, and MDIS International Pte Ltd to further its globalisation strategy.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be of age 16 and above and must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:

A recognised degree or diploma with two years working experience in any industry


Mature candidates (≥30 years old with 8 years relevant work experience)



English Language Requirements

Applicants are to meet one of the requirements:

C6 pass in English at GCE 'O' level or equivalent


Achieve a minimum band of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent


Pass the English Entrance Test conducted by MDIS


MDIS Professional Certificate in English
