MDIS College’s pastoral care is namely known as the R.I.P.E. programme (Remedial, Inter-disciplinary workshops, Pastoral care and Experiential workshop). R.I.P.E. programme is used to conduct the following activities:

  • Academic Targeting/Mapping
Students are to set an ultimate target for what they want to achieve for their National Examinations (O, A or IGCSE) and also set smaller targets for the standardised assessment / mid-year examination / preliminary examination so that they can eventually reach their ultimate target.

  • 1 on 1 Academic Counselling
Counselling sessions are conducted after their assessments/examinations, whereby teachers will discuss with students in regards to their progress towards their academic targets. Our dedicated and experienced trained teachers will advise students on the proactive steps they can take to improve their studies.

  • Study Guidance Talks
Teachers will be conducting talks that benefit the well-being of students such as examination tips, time management and other relevant topics.

  • Book Club
At our MDIS Resource Hub, book club students are required to read a book and write a book review every month.

  • Community Involvement Programmes
Students will be involved in charity work as volunteers. For instance, in June 2022, MDIS College worked with Singapore Red Cross on Project R.I.C.E. whereby students volunteered to sort and pack gift bags for the needy in Singapore.
