SKILLS DEVELOPMENT FUND (SDF)
The Skills Development Fund (SDF) was established in October 1979 with the primary objective of encouraging employers to invest in skills upgrading of the workforce. The SDF does this by offering assistance as an incentive to companies to mount training programmes for employees.

The Skills Redevelopment Programme (SRP) is a funding programme that provides benefits for your employer to send you for training or retraining. It offers attractive subsidies for your course fees and your company's payroll, when your company sends you for skills upgrading.
SRP was jointly set up by NTUC and EDB in 1996 to encourage companies to send employees like you to take up training or retraining and upgrading opportunities.
Originally targeted at only company-sponsored workers, the programme has now been extended to unemployed or retrenched workers under the Surrogate Employers Scheme. This scheme will allow an unemployed or retrenched worker to seek support from various surrogate employers.
